You must know first the order of the cards from lowest to highest before you learn what the winning poker hands are, two to ace. However, usually the ace doubles as the lowest and highest card, depending on the card combinations you are holding.

Poker hand is made up of five cards that you can make out of your two hole cards and the five community cards. You can either use one or both your hole cards. Quads or most commonly known as four of a kind is consist of four cards of the same rank, such as four queens for example, and one card. Whoever holds the higher set of quads will win over his opponent who’s also holding a four of a kind combination.

Other combinations also include full house which is any three cards of the same value and a pair of different value, flush is any five same suit and not in sequence, straight is five successive cards of mixed suits. Other poker hands are two pairs, one pair and high cards.
